Yep, yet another 'I'm not dead I'm just really bad at updating or even submitting on this site' journal!
So first off, I am sorry to all my followers for being such a shit deviant and never on here. You could try me over on my tumblr, but that isnt exactly up to date either. Sure I'm on there every day, but I dont blog a whole lot. So if you want to stay on here go right ahead, I will always try my best to put stuff on here now and then.
What's been happening since my last journal? Well, that was ALA time frame and I guess I'll start off by saying I had a bunch of fun
I met new people, made new friends, and spent the whole weekend feeling sick for one reason or another (seriously, that aspect of the con sucked). I'm sorry to people that I hung out with if I seemed not that interested or friendly. ESPECIALLY sorry to anyone that was hanging out with me and I seemingly ditched or ran off from. It was not you, it was me not feeling well and becoming overwhelmed or overheated from the incredibly crowded con (I dont do large crowds well, and anyone who was there could tell you how cramped everything felt. We were like sardines in some areas. Too much!). I still loved it though and loved all the people I hung out with!
Shortly after that, I got a job! No, not a studio job, I sadly came to the conclusion that as much as I love training and really want to be a studio trainer, that career really isnt the best road for me. I absolutely stress out over not having a constant paycheck to be able to balance my money and was in denial about it, insisting that my love for training would make things better...it didnt. So goodbye to that dream, hello to a job at a dog daycare and boarding place. It was very nice there and I enjoyed my coworkers and being able to literally pet dogs all day.
In the mean time I also went to Wondercon for the very first time and had fun there too! I was only able to go on friday though, which wanst as fun as I know the con could have been, as pretty much all of my friends were not showing up until the following day. Still I got to hang out with some people I dont get to see very often, and met a super amazing Jurassic World cosplay group! I was there as Chris Pratt's character, a raptor trainer, and was going around with my bait bag full of candy, using my clicker and rewarding anyone who recognized me. Then low and behold walking down the aisles there's a guy in the exact same cosplay! Super cool and we high fived! He's being followed by two girls in full body raptor make-up, screeching and acting totally in character! SUPER COOL! Pictures were of course taken, and I even trained the girls a little bit (I think they appreciated getting to eat some candy after stalking around the con for who knows how long). For sure a con I'm going back to next year.
Now? I've left the dog daycare (was never going to be permanent anyways), and am currently working back at my zoo school for their summer camp program! Kids are scary, but everyone says I'm really good with them, so this is a nice way to see into the world of education. Right now we're setting stuff up and figuring things out (I and the other hires are literally creating the camp and its schedule this and next week). Who knows, maybe by the end of the summer I'll come to realize I love it and could then search for jobs in that field?
So that's the update on little ol' me! Sorry again to have been gone so long, and sorry if this was boring to any of you. I'll be pretty busy again in the next few weeks, so I'll try to get some things up on here before then.
Until the next con, see ya!
